EDF cutting gas prices
12 January 2012
EDF has cut gas prices by 5% to take effect from 7th February, and the remainder of the “big six” have been urged to slash their tariffs to follow suit. This is lot less than the 15% increase imposed in November and less than consumer groups wanted, especially after the 9.2% fall in the wholesale price of gas due to decreased demand in view of the mild winter. The reduction by EDF will save consumers an average of around £38 a year
