Drivers Details Sold On

The DVLA have sold on drivers details to parking fine firms which included a convicted criminal who ran a dubious enforcement company. This firm wrongly called in bailiffs, unfairly disallowed appeals and erected misleading signs. Another 12 firms to whom the information was handed to have been suspended from accessing the register.
An official from the DVLA is reported to have stated “Landowners have a right to impose legitimate parking rules so we have to strike a balance”.
