Hose Pipe Ban Imminent
13 March 2012
As Britain’s worst drought for 124 years continues, environment chiefs are advising the country to “take action now” before the water restrictions come into effect on the 5th April. The drought, which is mainly affecting the south east and east of England, could spread across the rest of the country within weeks if the drought continues.
Water companies have stated that whilst they appreciate the water bans will be unpopular, they are necessary to save a lot of water. Anyone who breaches the ban could be liable to a fine of not exceeding £1,000.
