The European Social Fund (ESF) pays out cash to help improve the self esteem and confidence of criminals and assisting them in finding a job, yet the Ministry of Defence has stated that no money from this fund has been spent on the victims. The Ministry of Justice is reported to have stated “The ESF money was specifically to help former offenders in preventing reoffending and keeping the public safer”.
